Authorization Process

Waste Identification and Classification

Identify the hazardous waste generated by your operations and classify it under the relevant Schedules (I to IV) of the Rules.

Document Preparation

Gather all required documents including waste analysis reports, process flow details, and waste management plan.

Application Filing with SPCB

Submit the application in Form 1 to the concerned State Pollution Control Board or Pollution Control Committee along with prescribed fees.

Scrutiny and Review

SPCB officials review the application, verify documents, and may request additional technical data or clarifications.

Site Inspection

An inspection team visits the facility to assess waste management practices, storage conditions, and safety measures.

Authorization Issuance

Upon successful review and inspection, SPCB issues the Hazardous Waste Authorization in Form 2 with specified conditions.

Annual Returns and Renewal

Submit annual returns on hazardous waste generated, treated, and disposed of; renew authorization before expiry.

✔Layout plan showing hazardous waste storage area within the premises
✔Emergency response and contingency plan for accidental spills or leaks
